Meet Vijaya Vemulakonda, MD

I strive to provide compassionate, evidence based care for my patients. I believe that it is essential to actively engage parents in determining the best care for their children and to optimize treatment for them.

“I’m a firm believer in the idea of shared decision-making. Parents are a full partner in the decisions.”

- Dr. Vijaya Vemulakonda

For Patients:
My research interests include better defining indications for surgery and improving clinical outcomes for children with congenital urologic anomalies such as ureteropelvic junction obstruction, vesico-ureteral reflux, posterior urethral valves, and bladder exstrophy.
For Referring Providers:
My research interests include the development and implementation of evidence based guidelines that: (1) clearly define surgical indications, (2) minimize health disparities, and (3) optimize outcomes in children with congenital urologic anomalies using electronic health-record based research tools to facilitate multicenter collaborative research
